If sending a push notification fails due to a temporary error (timeout, status code 500-504 or 406; should probably also add 429) it is not being retried but E-Mail notifications are being retried for up to 12 hours.
This seems inconsistent and (in some cases) leads to users complaining that they do not get notifications.
