XF 1.5 Email notification for every reply to subscribed/watched threads

The default watch/subscribe thread (with email notification) function will send an email for the first reply, but won't continue sending notifications for subsequent replies unless you've read the thread again.

Is there any code modification to send email notifications for every single reply, even if the user doesn't check the thread again?

I have a paid add-on which does this; https://xenforo.com/community/resources/persistent-alerts.4962/

It has some configuration options, but be aware this can generate a lot of emails.
