XF 2.2 email confirmations not sending

people are reporting that they are not getting email confirmations when signing. What do I need to do to start troubleshooting this to find out why?

Disable all your addon themes.

Try to register now.

I’d suggest going through the email troubleshooting guide.

It was written for XF1 but the same principles still apply.

XF 2.2 - Password reset / email verification

For some reason email is no longer being sent for password resets or email verification. I have tested outbound email to a couple different accounts and is working no issue. When I try to do a password reset I don't get a email. There are no log errors I can find and nothing is bouncing back so...

I solved my problem ok

My solution was to use google smtp and my own smtp for bounce and unsubscribe.

I get what it's telling me, but I don't understand because I did not put a check next to, Enable Manual Approval. I shouldn't have to manually approve registrations.

This is what I have. I don't really see anything else below what I listed here that would have anything to do with me having to manually approve registrations.
