Electric Car Forum - Speak EV

Hello all.

I've just launched a new forum (so not much content at all yet) and would love to hear if anyone has any feedback from a point of view of experience XenForo users.

http://speakev.com

So far it uses Flatter: http://xenforo.com/community/resources/flatter-1-2-responsive.2019/ with several small modifications and social network authentication: http://xenforo.com/community/resources/social-network-authentication-twitter-google-vk-com.645/

Oops, almost forgot, also this icon set: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/square-simple-node-icons-speech-bubble.53980/

I plan to have a photographic header background at some point, but my goal has been to keep it clean and clear.

Thanks in advance...

Paul

To be blunt, because a) I really don't like that style, and b) It represents everything I don't like about car sites and forums. Not the angle I was going for, I know a lot of folk like that type of thing, but it's not for me.

The first things I would do when I install this on my site would be to replace all those PNG icons with webfont icons such as the node icons, the rss icons, etc. This will provide a much more polished feel to the site.
You can see how it looks currently on my site

You can get a general idea of how to do that here. Look for font awesome.

Thanks, I'll look at doing that as I'm a big fan of font-icons and use them extensively in my "work work".

Also would like to make the main site logo "retina" ready, surprised that isn't baked in XenForo yet, as they're doing great work generally with their technology.

I've recently changed the forum icons to SVG using grunticon and it seems to be working well so will eventually hope to do the same for most other icons too, with a small redesign as well to "tighten up" how they look in comparison to the more simple site style.

Just joined your forum Paul, very informative and helpful. (I bough a Leaf last week)

I see you have Similar Threads addon, which is very useful. Forum tends to be a bit slow though. (I see it is on Vertical Scope - I have not so far had a good experience with them)
