Elasticsearch question

I am (finally) about to port over from vB. I am running a Dell R730 with multiple virtual machines. I need to know whether or not the Elasticsearch product needs to be installed on the webservers or on the database server.

You can install it on either one, you just have to make sure that it's accessible by XF. (Speaking of the Elasticsearch core piece)
Once you have Elasticsearch configured on whatever server, you just need to tell XF how to access it (IP/port#). (as well making sure that the necessary ports are open, etc... if it's not on the same server as XF.)
