After installing Elasticsearch you will notice, that it will not connect to xenforo. There are multiple errors like you can see here in this thread. You can use the latest Elasticsearch release by changing one line in its current configuration:

step 1 open the elasticsearch configuration file

Hi, Is this still needed with the recent XF and XES?

It's only necessary in XFES 2.2 if you're using a self-signed certificate. In XFES 2.3 you can provide a custom CA bundle (or disable SSL verification, which I would caution against).

Just dropping a note that XFES should already work with Elasticsearch 8, but credentials are required when enabling the security module and a valid SSL certificate is required for HTTPS support. A new configuration option has been added to XFES 2.3+ which allows specifying the path to a custom CA bundle for SSL verification or disabling SSL verification entirely if your Elasticsearch setup is using self-signed certificates.

On ES 8.15 i must use these lines

xpack.security.enabled: false
xpack.security.transport.ssl.enabled: false
xpack.security.http.ssl.enabled: false

In case anyone has same problem as me
