Elastic Search Q

Hi

I use XF2.1

I have just had my host install ES on my dedicated server and this is what they said

ElasticSearch has been installed in your home directory.

/usr/home/**/ES/

Please review the installation, and create the setup as you wish.

If you want us to monitor the "search" daemon, please let us know (after
you have it set up).

my questions before purchasing ES addon are

Do I need to set anything up server side or will the ES addon allow to to make all the settings I need
What is a "Search" Daemon and do I need them to monitor that

Ok I went ahead and bought the addon

it installed fine and i attempted to setup but got the following message

A connection could not be made to the Elasticsearch server.

Now I may have bitten off more than i can chew but I am determined to get this sorted.
here is a snapshot of the settings page, what am i doing wrong, i guess it has a lot to do with the address I am putting in the server box (oh and I have worked out it doesnt need the forward slash at the beginning :)

I have taken a guess that the username and password are to access my server

Your elasticsearch server is configured incorrectly.

If it is on the same host as your webserver try http://localhost as the name.

Also, if they did not implement security remove the username and password.

Well they are asking you to review the installation and stating to let them know if you want them to monitor the daemon (ElasticSearch) after you have set it up.

What sort of host is it? Managed ? Unmanaged? Some sort of panel?

ok just got this back from my host

The Elasticsearch program is not currently running. You'll need to enter
your desired configuration for that and start it to have the program
active. You can use **.pair.com for the server hostname for that, or
any domain name pointed to the account.

How do I configure it?
How do I start it?
sorry if i am frustrating you all
