Efficient way to Restrict Site Access to specific location?

I am putting together a forum that only would need to be accessed by people who live in my city.
I know I can use htaccess to block counties but wanted to see if there was any more efficient way of doing this and if possible, restricting it to maybe even just my state?

Using Cloudflare is the most accurate.
But limited to Countries only.

Your members may want to access your site even when they're out of town. Or you might have people who want to contribute because they used to live in your city (but don't anymore) so they know a lot about it.

I don't recommend this on a city level...but if you insist, your site can request to access location data the same way that food delivery sites do.
