XF 1.2 Edit Silently Function

Just a quick question!

Coz whenever I edit a post I wanted everybody to know that it is edited and I don't want the silent function after all. Can I disable this and make the default as it was edited?

You have to actually click the box, but if you want to remove it you should be able to edit the option out of the templates (make them hidden inputs).

On the same note, this doesn't seem to work for us. The 'Edited by:' is never shown, it just shows the post with the edited text (or whatever) there.
Admin and Moderators can see the 'edit silently' check box but even if it is unchecked, it still edits silently?

Do you have any out dated templates? It's most likely a style issue of not displaying the information.
