Is there an easy way to create a new profile tab and/or documentation on how to do so which can use custom user fields or would it need to be a completely new add on to do that with fields inputted there?
You can accomplish this with template edits, but there's no proper documentation for it. It shouldn't be too difficult to work out by looking at the member_view template though.
