Do add ons attract a one time purchase or they are renewed

For the almighty xenforo software, I am Pretty much aware it attracts license renewal after purchasing but does that apply to every add on one purchases for his/her forum??

It depends on the addon developer. Most do have a renewal fee though.

I'm currently spending over $300 a year for addon renewals, so if Xenforo wants to add all those addon features to the core and then increase their yearly renewal fee to $100, I'd consider it a bargain.
