My XF site is requesting users permission to send desktop notifications, I am not sure if this is part of the default system or an addon or how to turn this off. As we get a lot of unique users and currently don't have HTTPS we're not trusted and this could turn users away.

Does anyone know how to stop this?

XenForo does not offer this functionality by default.
Which add-ons do you have installed?

No this is occurring in IE in schools and other workplaces.

All I can suggest is you disable any add-ons which look like they may do that.
Notifications 1.6.2 sounds like a possible candidate.

That's Chris Deeming's Notifications add-on which I use and it's definitely not that.

I don't use most of them so all I can suggest is to disable them all and re-enable them one at a time to determine which, if any, add-on is causing it.
