Deny reply submission when only the quoted message exists

I have a lot of people REPLYING to messages with ONLY a quote - and nothing else. Similar to the ability to prevent the submission of a topic or reply without a specified amount of characters, I need an add-on to prevent a reply with a quote and nothing else.

Thank you. I think it would be a great addition to any busy community or network of communities. Perhaps one of the moderators will move this topic into the XF Suggestions area...

There are modifications for the 'no double post' / 'no duplicate post' so this hopefully isn't too difficult to add either.

Yeah I also have people putting their reply within the quote 🤦‍♂️
 
I still get replies to the post notification email.... I feel really bad like I'm snooping on their conversations when I email them back and let them know that the member won't ever get it unless they reply to the post/PM.

I just have those all go to a no reply email so it gets bounced back to them so they know.

I changed the verbiage and design to stand out even more to let them know that replies to the email won't reach their intended recipient. I even had one guy accuse me of spying on his messages.

Perhaps it should be a feature of the software that if people do respond to the emails, it gets pushed to the user's conversation... Not sure if there would be security problems with that...

Just change the email to no-reply@website in basic options and your problem is solved. :)

My (paid) post friction addon can be configured to issue warnings (and block if configured) posts where the total quote is above a given percentage. This handles cases when people quote a few thousands words and then add something like "thanks".
