XF 1.5 Deleting 1st post?

Now that I know that deleting the first post in a thread deletes the entire thread, is there any way to allow a user to delete their own posts, but exclude the ability for them to delete it if its the 1st post in a thread? I know all about hard vs. soft deletes, and don't want to eliminate the ability completely so the Admins on our Forum don't have to do it. Thanks,

In the permissions there is an option that allows users to delete their own threads, make sure that is set to no.

So leave "delete post by self" as allowed; and "delete thread by self" as never?
That will keep users from accidentally deleting an entire thread if they delete their post which happens to be the 1st post in that thread?

With that permission setup the link to delete the first post is not visible, so it is not possible to accidentally delete the thread.

Avoid using "Never", use "Not Set (No)" instead.

Never can never be overridden and can cause issues in the future when using multiple user groups with users. More details here:
