XF 1.3 Delete own user account

In XF1.3 it is not possible for users to delete their own user account. Only admins can do this via ACP.

One of my users was a bit upset about this fact and asked me why this is not possible. To be honest, I did not know the answer. is this not possible out of the box for security reasons?

There is no security based reason - the feature just hasn't been developed.
