XF 2.1 Database word errors

This month my forum was moved from normal shared hosting to Performance hosting (Vimexx)
Since that move peculiar words are very strange - for example:

één (één)

€ (€)

Is there a way to change these peculiar words in the database?

How was the dump and restore done?

It likely needs to be done again to resolve the incorrect encoding/character set.

The problem: if it is done againe, my forum will lose a lot threads; is there no other way to solve the problem.

You could run queries against the database to resolve the incorrect characters but that's a less than ideal option.

You will need to identify every example and craft the queries to ensure no other content is affected.

Take a backup of the database first.

You should speak to whoever did the move for you and get them to resolve it, if you don't know how to do it yourself.
