Data Tables v1.6.1 - polish from an internal code review against XenForo's own patterns.

Data Tables v1.6.1

A small follow-up to v1.6.0 - polish from an internal code review against XenForo's own patterns.

Improvements

  • Member fields use native username styling - User-type fields now render members with XenForo's standard username styling (user-group colour, online indicator, member hover-card, profile link) instead of a plain link.
  • Clearer warning when a field-type change would clear data - When you...

Few more bugs...

Date picker on date fields: I should be able to double click to set date but only exiting sets date. Maybe add a button to set date to the picker.
Search seems to be odd - I assume search is limited to certain field types as I can't search by user ID for example.
I've set fields to filterable but I can't see any filter anywhere.

Data Tables v1.6.2 - Field-wide search + per-field filters

Data Tables v1.6.2 - Field-wide search + per-field filters

Two items from @ichpen's feedback, plus a search reliability fix.

Added

  • Per-field filters - marking a field "Filterable" now actually shows a filter (previously the toggle did nothing). Both the public table view and the AdminCP record list get a clean, native filter bar for your filterable fields: text = contains, number = min/max range, date =...

All three are sorted in v1.6.2:
  • Searching by user ID - search now covers every field, not just the title. That includes User fields by username or raw user ID, as well as lookups, numbers, and the rest. Still a single fast query.
  • Filterable fields - you were right, the "Filterable" toggle wasn't actually wired to anything. It now shows a proper filter bar on both the public table view and the AdminCP record list: "contains" for text, min/max for numbers, from/to for dates, a dropdown for yes-no / lookup / linked-table fields, and username-or-ID for member fields. Filters stack with search and sorting, carry across pages, and have a one-click Clear.
  • Date field - that one is actually the browser's built-in date picker rather than the add-on. On some browsers the value commits when you click away instead of the instant you pick a day, but it is always saved on submit. I have left it as XenForo's native date control on purpose so it stays consistent with the rest of the software and handles themes and locales correctly.
The upgrade is non-destructive - your existing records are not touched. Thanks again for taking the time to report these, it genuinely helps.

filtering is great, needs a user front end version of it as well!

  • Only show the tagged filterable fields per the settings
  • hide it from search engines or better yet, make it a permission-based item so only logged-in users can sort and filter
  • When filtering, and no results, the default phrase is misleading "No records have been added to this table yet." They are there, just need a different filter. perhaps "No results matching your criteria"

Noted! Will release another version containing those changes a bit later today!

I would disagree with that. Maybe it works for some usecases, but my tables are LARGE.

Maybe a singular record if sharing a link could embed, but not the whole definition list.

You don't have to embed it you know 🙄
