First, apologies for not quite communicating with my moderator. I shouldn't happen again.
I'd like to provide users with a custom field that the can use to set the default font color of their posts. I've already located the template to edit (message), and I see that I can do a custom text field and validate it with a regex (/^#\d{6}$/ I'd assume) to ensure a proper hex code - but I was wondering:
Is there was any way to use the same color selector used while editing palettes to populate a custom user field?
