Custom Thread Fields

I just installed the most curren Elasticseach and Enhanced Seach releases. Is there anyway to have custom thread fields added to what can be searched. That ability would provide requiring specific information be entered to return enhanced regional results like city, state or whatever the field asks for.

Yes, ES is fully supported in our add-on, the information of custom fields is indexed in ES and this index is used to optimize the search.

Hi, Can you tell me if creating a drop down with choices like "States" is a better option than just having user enter the State in a text field? I don't know what is more beneficial performance wise and such. Thanks!

I see you have posted the question in another add-on, most likely meaning this add-on. It is better to create the states as a list of options to choose from, as the value is indexed more optimally and it can be searched/filtered more effectively and precisely.
