XF 2.2 custom reaction type

We are using reactions as a form of currency.

I am looking to insert custom xf_reaction_content rows in the database and make them show up in the account reactions received. I want these to be custom phrases and NOT linked to any type of content, how do I do this?

I'd just write it as an addon. Have the addon setup insert the row into whereever reactions are stored in tables, and add relevant phrases to the addon via the admin panel during development.

Unsure where they're stored sorry. But that's the gist
