    I'd have this need. I'd like to create a new button that, when clicked, paste in the editor a text string that is, in fact, a new BBCode I've to use. Can someone be so kind to tell me how to do that?

    I think that I can use this new XF 1.3 function to do that or am I wrong?

    What does the BB Code do?

    In its most basic form, all you need to do is define the tag, HTML and token.

    I'm using this addon from AndyB

    that needs to use a BBCode like this [rsvp=12345]Click Here[/rsvp] so I'd like to create a button in Redactor that, when clicked, paste in the editor that BBCode but I really don't know what to do...

    What is the 12345?
    What does clicking do?

    You are probably better off asking in that add-on thread if it's specific to that add-on.

    The click should only paste this

    [rsvp=12345]Click Here[/rsvp]

    in the editor. That's all. No need to do anything other...

    What you want is a button in the editor for that add-on.

    You should ask in the add-on thread for it to be developed as part of the add-on.

    I know but since I could need these instructions also for other purposes not related to this addon, I'd like to have a clue on what to create a BBCode...

    It's all explained here: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/custom-bb-codes.66206/

    There are BB Code add-ons in the RM which you can download and see how they have been created.

    Thanks Brogan, I've yet read these and tried what you suggest but my knowledge is far inferior to your so I'll wait for someone to tell me how since I'm not really sure that this can be accomplished that way...
