Hi everyone, would it be possible to create a xenforo-based website to create a kind of social network? where people can indicate what they are looking for/want, the area they come from and send friend requests and start messaging each other? Would it finally be possible to implement a dating system? is there something?

Yers, but on a more basic level it can be done without. I would advising starting off and seeing what you can do just using the core (custom user fields, thread fields, prefixes etc.) and then see what is missing and needs further development.
