Crazy amount of guests

Not personally, no, I was just describing it. You block one route and they go somewhere else. Block a few countries and the bots start coming from more obscure places like Burkina Faso, Panama and so on. I think that is many peoples experience at the moment. I only had just over 5,000 initially - some have many more thousands. Most of that 5,000 seemed to be China and Singapore. Block China and the main Singapore ASN's and they moved to Myanmar (Burma). Block Myanmar and they moved to Malaysia. Block that and boom - residential proxies from all over the world. The US wasn't a problem for me until I stopped the worldwide swarm - then that became the main source.

Maybe people have different swarms and we don't all have the same ones, but the behaviour is similar with all of them and filtering by browser can help.

Most of the residential proxies are using desktop browsers. Many out of date browsers can't solve challenges. The ones using up to date real browsers can.

The proxies themselves are proxies - they dont "use" a browser at all, they are proxies that get used by some other program. Also I would not bet they are using "desktop browsers" - they may transfer the user agent of a desktop browser but this does say absolutely nothing about what software is really used.

I currently have over 100,000 guests at my website, marathonstadium.com

I've made the site require a login for guests, but it hasn't stopped them.

Sorry to ask what's probably been asked a million times, but what's currently the best way to stop or discourage them? I've been searching solutions, but reading this thread it sounds like a lot of them are already outdated.
The main thing with using cloudflare is - it stops them before they hit your server. In case server overload is an issue.
