Country registration check [Deleted]

I was trying to remember what addon I had that was able to block registration from a specific country like India but yet still allow people from that country to view the site.
I thought it was Block Country but it was actually this addon and the beauty of this addon is you can deactivate it to let someone register and then reactivate it as needed.
I get spammers from India registering overnight and placing spam profiles with links to websites on the about page. I delete quite a number of these and India is the main culprit. I also have legitimate members from India so I did not want them to be impacted like with the Block Country addon because it also blocks viewing of the site.
Another nice feature about this addon is you don't have to install the the GeoIp2 library.
Sorry to see the addon discontinued, I do have the old version and it works as needed.

I am on cloud so I can't install GeoLite, the addon above is perfect because it works without it.

You don't need to download it externally - my addon handles that for you. I don't see why being on Cloud would prevent you from using it?

I was searching for Country, the switch to word region meant I could not find it in search.

I tried them all yesterday and am sticking with the old Country Registration Check 1.9
I simply input IN for india and the next morning no spam reg and shows in log India was blocked.
I could not get the new version with region and country code to work. The region code vs country code stuff was a bit confusing and I never got it to block.
Every addon has layers of setting and Country Registration Check 1.9 just worked out of the box and did exactly what I want. I just input IN and the logs showed the blocks.
I also like that they can view and use the contact form if necessary because I customized it to say if they think the block was in error to contact the admin. That way any potential legitimate member can contact admin for an exception.
