So you blocked my account for downloading. It feels like the goal here is to boost your post count and user numbers by advertising “free” theme downloads. It looks more like he’s promoting his own website than offering any genuine free service to users.

The area you are attempting to access is currently offline. Please try again later.

The system blocks access when you mass-download resources and give incorrect URLs. Sharing your URL is private between the downloader and myself, but giving incorrect URLs is not allowed.

Edit: I'd be happy to undo the restriction if you provide URLs.

It’s not the system, it’s you. A system doesn’t decide on its own what a URL is or block someone personally. You made that call.

And “mass downloading”? You only have two themes there. Calling that mass downloading doesn’t make sense.

What I said earlier still stands. This looks less like you’re offering free themes and more like you’re using the “free download” idea to promote your community. If you genuinely want to resolve this, be clear about the real reason for the restriction instead of blaming it on the system.

I’m not here to argue. I know how my system works, I’ve built it. It’s clear and simple, there’s many members here on XF who mass-download resources for their nulled redistribution websites. If you can’t share your link, you are NOT permitted to download. Yesterday I added license token validation to our XF resources. - again, if you’re willing to share your url, I will remove your restrictions. If you just want to argue, then please safe yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. If you have nothing to hide, then there’s no reason to argue. Just PM me and we’ll sort things out. But accessing my resources requires URLs and now also license validation.

I’m not trying to argue either, but assuming that anyone who downloads more than one resource must be running a nulled site isn’t a fair approach. Some people download multiple themes simply to test which one fits their site best. That’s normal behavior, not abuse.

Also, I think we see the meaning of “free” differently. To most users, free means they can download the resource without extra conditions or screening. On XenForo itself, if something is marked free, people can download it directly without being questioned or restricted.

When downloads are routed through your community and controlled manually, it gives the impression that the goal is more about promoting the forum and growing membership than simply sharing themes with the community. If the intention is truly to give something back, providing a direct download would avoid this confusion.

I don’t have an issue sharing my link in principle, but the way this is being handled doesn’t feel right. If you try to control users too tightly, it usually pushes them away rather than building trust.

I share resources for free to those with good intentions. I would rather have 2 good people than 20 wrong ones. This goes against your advertising reasoning. I’m not doing it for the clicks, I would rather filter out those people.
I’m not sharing why my system flagged you as a potential risk, but for the third time, I’m more than willing to remove your restrictions. So, I’m now ending this argument. If you wish to have access, PM me your username and I’ll sort it out. Just know without validation and a proper URL, you will be restricted again. Whether that’s for free or paid resources, it doesn’t make a difference.

That’s fine, but I don’t actually need your free themes. I usually purchase resources directly from developers because I prefer supporting their work properly. I only tried to download yours to test how they would look on my community before deciding anything further. That was my mistake.

I’ve been around the XenForo community for a long time, and honestly, I’ve never seen this kind of approach from other developers, putting restrictions in place while calling the resources free. Your own words also make it clear that multiple users have been blocked based on your internal judgments, which just reinforces that this isn’t really about “free access” in the usual sense.

In any case, there’s no need to remove the restriction. I’ll simply stick to purchasing resources from developers as I normally do.

Let me be clear about something. Just because I offer something free, doesn’t mean you are entitled to download without validation of your URL/license. It’s clear to me you don’t understand or want to understand that I have security build in because of people who like to distribute to nulled websites. I’m not doing this for advertising, and my methods may not be liked by you, but it’s the way I operate. I’m not providing support to people who share my resources. I provide support to good meaning people, usually within 24 hours. I’m not here to gain popularity or clicks. If you can’t understand that, that’s on you.
