My members post images a lot, and they are not tech-savvy. I set a very big file size limit to make sure all uploads succeed, the members can even shoot on the fly, which is very cool. I use a small dimension limit to prevent my server from being filled up.
I just found that when you do "copy image" (not copy image address) in Chrome, Chrome actually copied the image content and generated a new PNG file for upload. So, when you upload a a 100KB JPG with "copy image & paste" in chrome, you actually uploaded a 500KB PNG file without your knowledge. I banned PNG files to prevent this. But PNG files are quite popular too, some members don't understand it.
What's the best way to tackle this? Thanks!
