Cookie Accept Reject

Hello,

My forum has encountered unusual activity over the last week or so. It has received a number of hits from Hong Kong and China, (I assume) a bot is accepting or rejecting the cookie prompt. The number of ‘guests’ has also significantly increased in the same period. There have been no spam registrations and I have geo blocked Hong Kong and China.

What are the bots trying to achieve? Is this something I should be concerned about? What measures can I take to block unwanted bots?

Geoblocking is one way - I'm using Digital Point's Cloudflare app for that, which also shows which country "guests" and bots are from. You can either block a country completely or just block them from registering. Ozzie's registration spaminator also stops them registering, but I don't think there's anything that stops bots crawling (although I might be wrong).
