    Hi,

Today I have purchased software from Xenforo. Hope to have a great experience with this.

Just to start with, can anyone please help me giving links to convert existing phpbb forum to XenForo?

I have phpbb installed in my root, and I want to replace it and install XenForo in my root as well.

    Thanks for help.

    1) Install XF in a subdirectory like yoursite.com/xf

    2) Run the import. Here is some documentation:

    http://xenforo.com/community/threads/import-guide.10053/
    http://xenforo.com/help/importing/

    3) If you are satisfied with the results of the import then clear out your web root and move the files from /xf to the root. Then update this setting in XF:

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> Basic Board Information -> Board URL

    4) Then you may wish to setup redirects. See this thread:

The conversion from phpBB3 is pretty painless to Xenforo.

    Hi,

I think I have managed to import successfully. One confusion though is, shouldn't I remove "install" folder after installation, like most other softs? It is not mentioned in any manual for xenforo, so does it mean "it doesn't matter whether I delete or not"?

    Thanks for the help again.

Nope. XF writes the internal_data/install-lock.php file to lock out the install script.
