Considering switching from vBulletin to Xenforo; have some questions though.

Hello everyone.

I've enjoyed the look of Xenforo and I've seen a couple excellent websites that use it. It seems flexible enough to design the way I want so I'm going to give it a go. I do have a couple questions, though.

1. Is there a way to transfer posts/threads from my vBulletin forum to the Xenforo forum? As well as accounts so members do not need to register again.

2. Is there a way to allow members to be in more than one usergroup. I would like to display special title images underneath the members' icons that display their usergroup statuses (staff, sponsor, pioneer member, etc.)

3. Where can I check out Xenforo's future plans on their next versions? I would like to know what they are planning to add as time passes. What are priority additions?

I will try to come up with more questions along the way. I am inching toward Xenforo because it seems like a faster and cleaner forum software altogether and the community seems great. I'm not entirely impressed with the actual Modding community but hey, Xenforo is new so I can give it some time!

Thank you for your time,

RedSpades

There is a vBulletin importer, and it will import everything needed from vBulletin. You can find information about the importer here: http://xenforo.com/help/importing/

You can have multiple user groups for a user too. A little information on user groups in XenForo: http://xenforo.com/help/user-groups/

You can check development updates in the announcement forum. The next update coming up is XenForo 1.1 due this Summer. You can also view select features in detailed review by looking at the videos in this forum.

Thank you for your reply, Onimua! In response to your multiple user groups message, am I only restricted to using TEXT. Can I modify this text in any way (with HTML)? I was actually planning to use a small image BADGE rather than a Usergroup text underneath a name. Is this possible?

EDIT: My goodness, I love how smooth it is doing the quick reply and even the editing feature looks great!

You can do it following instructions like this: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/is-there-a-way-of-colourising-the-user-title.12727/#post-167567 :)

Back with a pile of more questions (hopefully it isn't a bother):

1. Is Xenforo forums viewable on Mobile devices?

2. Is there a Blogs feature?

3. A Downloads mod? Arcade Center mod?

4. Is there a feature in Xenforo that signifies "currency". For example, if a member posts, that member earns 50 Credits.

5. What makes Xenforo worth the switch?

Sorry for all the questioning. I think these questions can be very useful for anyone else who is planning to switch to XenForo.

1. Taptalk released an add-on (http://xenforo.com/community/thread...kberry-windows-phone-7-webos-nokia-app.14335/)

2. Not in the core, currently.

3. Arcades, I'm sure I've heard there is some developing going on but no eta. I haven't seen any download mods, but you can check out the add-on release forums or request one (http://xenforo.com/community/forums/add-on-requests.35/)

4. http://xenforo.com/community/threads/bd-banking.5853/

5. Xenforo is awesome, more faster, the developers are listening to the community (check out 1.1 updates). The community helps you with anything :) you can check the admin demo to see for yourself or ask someone who converted.

1. XenForo is easily viewed on mobile devices like iPhone, Android, etc. Haven't tested on older technology. There are plans for a mobile style, as well.
2. There are blog add-ons.
3. Not sure if there are any downloads mods, but XenForo stated they will be working on a resource manager, which could be used for such things. Arcade is up in the air...there's a lot of talk, but not much doing.
