A somewhat frustrating and sometimes unforeseeable occurrence happens occasionally where when importing data from a specified folder is prevented due to a variety of circumstances (be it the hosting setup, permissions or maybe an incorrect folder specified which is a valid path but the data isn't in there).
On large boards this can be a crippling issue if you get part way or all the way through (maybe taking several hours) the avatars/attachments/media part of an import and then find out at the end, nothing was imported.
An option at the start of an import to import a limited set of data for each option for review, just to make sure that data is found and importable would be a nice pre-check before getting hours into an import and finding out after the fact.
