Collaborative spreadsheet or document

On my RV forum I want to create a document or spreadsheet where people can add information such as names of service centers, locations, notes, etc. A single source list on topic. A concept similar to a google docs spreadsheet within the forum where people can contribute inputs, but probably require moderation.
 
Create a page node and embed a google spreadsheet or document.
I did think of this but prefer something more native to the forum and persisted in the database. Haven't really seen XF devs make use of the node feature for custom add-ins. Seems like a great capability not being utilized.
