XF 1.2 Clickable Links

Is it possible not to parse links automatically after making a new thread or post? vBulletin has the 'Automatically parse links in text' option when creating a thread, it was possible to edit the newthread.php file so the box was automatically checked.

Is there an option in xenForo to do this or can a file be edited to accomplish this? If so, which and how?

It already does so, try typing in a link in the editor.

If you surround posts with [plain], auto-linking should be prevented. However, there is no option to disable it.
