CLI Upgrade MySQL query error [1878]: Temporary file write failure.

Upgrading a licensed client via CLI getting the error "xf_liked_content: MySQL query error [1878]: Temporary file write failure."

Host says "We changed the MySQL temp directory location under / directory which has 287G free space"

How can I resolve this.

Did you change the temp directory in my.cnf?
tmpdir = /new/directory

Shouldn't that be /mysqltmp or /tmp?

I am in a bad bind, 20 year old site 17 million posts ALL backups are corrupt, site is down. I HAVE TO MAKE THIS WORK.

What about empty that table? Then try to restore it

My most recent non cpanel backup sql is from October. Cpanel home directory and sql backups are corrupt

Looks like they may have made the change in my.cnf but failed to restart. Ths morning they are asking me to restart, of course after doing so mysql fails. Let me get that resolved and it may solve the issue.

It seems to be working now, it has passed the point of where it was failing.
