Changing Default Avatar

Is it possible for me to change the Default avatar to something really annoying, like a picture of me. That way my members will get fed up and change it to their own ??

The default avatars are stored in the styles/<style>/xenforo/avatars directory.

You can replace the existing small, medium and large avatars with your own.

I did

And you will need to upload them again every time you update (or omit to upload that folder with the update)

Or create a new styles folder and change the setting in the ACP to point to that (which is recommended), which would prevent them being overwritten each time you upgrade.

Wouldn't get complicated if an update or addon includes images that go into the /styles/ folder?

Just copy them.

Exactly the same process if using a third party style which has its own directory.

In the end though, isn't that just as much faff?

It would be nice if you could define just the path to default avatars.

Create 9 png files.

File names:



File Size:
Small avatar- 48px * 48px
medium avatar-96px * 96px
Large avatar - 192px * 192px

FTP to your server.
