XF 2.3 Change XFRM Phrases With Addon?

I'm in the process of customizing the resource manager to be used for something else and I have a question.

I'm editing a ton of the phrases to make it work with what I'm trying to do but I'm on a test server. Is there a way for me to save all those edits into another add-on so I can just install that on my production site and it'll make all those changes for me there? I really don't want to have to track all these phrases down and edit them manually on my production server too.

you can export language edited one, then import it as a second language, but don't replace main English, just disable it

An easier method is the translation option to save one by one, unless using Find/replace, as the latter can have undesirable effects on replacing certain phrases that you'll need to revisit.

I've actually just tested this and it looks like I can export only the XFRM phrases that I've modified. Then I can import those into my production site, using the overwrite option, and only the phrases that I've edited (the ones I want changed) will be modified. The rest remain the same as they were.

Since I've already changed a bunch of them this will probably be much easier for me.

Curious why you say not to overwrite the main English language? Wouldn't it still be simple enough to revert the phrases back if I needed to later on?

Ahh, ok, gotcha. Glad you told me. I would've thought only the master language would be updated on upgrade/update.

Actually, are you sure this will happen? I just found this post by @Paul B that says the default language phrases won't be overwritten on update/upgrade.

Any phrases in the default or a custom style won't be overwritten when upgrading.
