XF 2.3 Carousel Slider - Limit to 1 Forum Node

I'm using the carousel slider on the main index page of the site but want to limit it to the content of one specific node.

Is there a template-style expression I can use to accomplish this?

I know I can use contextual content but that only works for the forum I place it in and I'm trying to achieve it from the main index page.

I figured out how to do that, kind of a work around...

1. Instead of the trending carousel I used the featured carousel
2. I then featured only items from my desired forum.
3. Displayed those in the slider

The only problem is its a pain in the butt to adjust dates on 100+ featured to get the slider to sort decently.

Would probably prefer a randomized slider because seeing the same images on every visit is not ideal. If 100+ pages are featured the slider should be able to randomize the images shown.
