XF 2.1 can't change usernames after upgrading to 2.1.1

pretty much what it says on the tin - after upgrading to 2.1.1 users can't change their usernames in account details anymore (yes, i did check the permissions - they're still enabled) ... not even admins, the option just isn't there anymore

i'm not entirely sure where to even begin looking for a solution ... maybe someone could help me out?

Username changes by users themselves is not a core function. That must be from an add-on. You will need to post in the discussion thread for that add-on and seek support from the author.
