That error has nothing to do with XenForo.
It generally means that the JP(E)G file you are using is originally a PNG (or any other) extension. It is corrupt, hasn't been converted right.
Happens to me too sometimes.
Converted? The picture came from the internet. Oh well, I guess there's no need to worry since I uploaded the other picture with JPG extension which worked fine.
