XF 2.2 Can someone who is registered on your forum, introduce a virus or malware by posting?

Something very strange happened this evening. Someone who had registered with my forum made a post and then right after that, it is as though the forum was rolled back 8 days. In fact, it was not just my forum. It was all of my websites including my main website. I am trying to figure this out. I am with HostGator. When I talked with technical support, he said it looked like some kind of behavor in the CMS. Can someone introduce a virus or malware via posting? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of anything which would enable a member simply by making a post to restore a backup of the database which was taken over a week ago, which is the only way a site could be rolled back.

Have you tried a XF health check to see if any files have been altered?

Have you asked Siteground to do a malware scan on all your sites and files?

I just checked. It can't be a malware attack. I have sitelock.
