RM 2.0 Buy now then upgrade?

1) I am currently on 1.5.16 and plan on upgrading to 2.0 early next year.
2) I migrated from vB and was using Downloads II. There is a add on that migrates that data to xenForo RM.

So, I plan on adding RM and am wondering if I should get the version for 1.5.x, migrate the data, then upgraded to the 2.x version. This seems like the correct way to go about it but just want to make sure I'm not missing something

I don't believe there are any importers for Xenforo 2 yet. Even for the resource manager. I don't really keep up with the RM but I think you got it right.
