I've been helping a friend with his forum. In the admin control panel all pageAction type of buttons which should trigger an overlay do not work and show instead an overlay with the index page of the ACP.

This is generally an incorrect web server config, usually where query string parameters aren't necessarily getting passed to PHP as expected.
Unfortunately, I don't think I know the specific cause. It's something we've seen a couple times before but I don't recall the resolution.
