XF 1.2 Board Currently Upgraded Check back later..error while upgrading

I am getting the following Message while trying to upgrade from 1.1.5 to 1.2 RC2

"The board is currently being upgraded. Please check back later."

I was using xenporta.. but before i uploaded the new files.. i turned it off... otherwise the URL structure with xenporta on looks like this

www.mysite.com/index.php

Now that i turned it off.. i suppose the normal URL for the forum is www.mysite.com (yes i have the XF files on the root)...

I have tried both www.mysite.com/index.php/install

as well as www.mysite.com/install (this doesn't give me the above mentioned message but a blank page)

What should i probably do?

Try loading www.mysite.com/install/index.php?upgrade/
