XF 1.2 Blank index route page setting?

Installed Xenforo in /forum and am wondering now whether a root install may have been better. Not thrilled with URLs that include /forum/forums/thread-title

If I remove the forums/ from the Index Page Route, will that get rid of the /forums part? Any negative repurcussions to just removing what's in the Index Page Route? Thanks.

The index page route just determines the "home" page of your forum.
Removing it won't achieve what you want.

The only way would be to move the installation to the root.
