My Co-Owner is leaving the site and I am taking over the hosting and management of the site. Currently we are on GoDaddy, But I would like to move it to Hostgator. Additionally, we would like to change the domain name from ftvworld.thetvworld.org to ftvworld.net.

Once the new hosting is purchased, what's the easiest way to move everything across without issues?

Good luck with that! Unfortunately, GoDaddy uses their own custom in-house control panel, which makes transferring your site away...well...difficult at best.

You're going to have to have Hostgator's support staff give it a try. Then once they get the actual files and databases transferred, you'll have to go through the steps above that Walter listed, to get your forum working again.
