Ban Temporary Email Addresses

Mycologist

Member
This might not be for everyone, but to discourage users from using popular temporary email services, I have started a list that can be added to XenForo's "Banned Email Addresses" section. Maybe you can help me build this list if I have missed a service?

Code:
*@*.mintemail.com
*@binkmail.com
*@bobmail.info
*@guerrillamail*.com
*@lhsdv.com
*@mailinator*.*
*@mailinator.*
*@safetymail.info
*@sogetthis.com
*@spamherelots.com
*@suremail.info
*@thisisnotmyrealemail.com
*@yopmail.com
*@zippymail.info

Hopefully these can be of some use.

Edit: Added addresses up to post #3. Thanks dmnkhhn & g0rn.

There might be a couple that were already added previously, but this is my personal list of emails I have found to be problematic through time.

Thank god, I did not blindly copy paste your list. You have gmail listed in that. 50-60% of users these days use gmail, including me.

But thanks for the list, a lot of them are only used by spammers.

Blindly doing things before understanding is never a good way to roll
50-60% of my spam was coming from gmail, hence why they are on my disallow temp email addys :)

100% of your spam was coming from the internet. Why not unplug the server?

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Why don't you add something constructive to this thread instead of trolling members

Here is few more from my old PHPBB site, hopefully they are not too outdated? Still good to add to the database.

Blocking Gmail users from registering for your forum is ridiculous, and pointing that out is constructive.

You are drenching a forest with Agent Orange in order to kill a few weeds, and that is unfortunate and misguided. I feel it is my public duty to try to help to prevent others from making the same mistake. I'm all about saving lives. You know that. Come on, man.

To block email-adresses is nonsense. There comes thousands new any day. Forget it. ... This is the reality and my experience ...

lol, saving lives, good one!

Just a thought. Does xenforo have an allow only list? Might be easier than banning since that can grow out of control.

I must point out that this is all somewhat pointless as anyone can register a throwaway Yahoo Mail or Gmail account in seconds. :)
