What image sizes are recommended for this? Will be purchasing later. Is it possible to set a default image that shows for everyone unless changed?

Well we do not recommend specific sizes.
Best is to have image that corresponds more or less to most used resolutions (Browser Display Statistics).

It's not in this version, but will be in upcoming version, default one will be first one.

Perfect, default image will be a huge plus as I plan to remove my current header and use background images instead.
