XF 2.3 Award users

Hi,

I recently moved from Invision board to Xenforo.

Invision had a build-in award system, and it was customizable.

An example is a user that helps other others, so the mods could reward a "Willing to help" award to the user.

I did find this addon: https://www.addonflare.com/xenforo-2-addons/xf2-awards-system.12/ but it seems that the developer has disappeared and the addon is ambandoned.

Maybe this is somehow possible with the native Xenforo functionality?

What about making some custom reactions (Like, Love, Wow etc.) that would also give points to the user?

Thanks!

Awarded with what? It's totally possible to give users a secondary usergoup and style it in many ways, but maybe a banner is a good one. You can do that.

Yes you can do that also, ie you can make custom reactions and give them a custom number of points. Search for reactions in your admin control panel.

yes, but the reactions will be available to everyone.
The idea is that only stuff members can award users, so that users can gain alot of points.
If a simple Like is 1 point, an "reward" could be 50 points.

Badges take the place of trophies
Badges don't take the place of trophies, they're still there in the screenshot.

You can award based on criteria, such as trophies.
  • Award users badges based on criteria.
However, you can turn all that off and:
  • Manually award users badges.

Don't set the "Award this badge if..." criteria and use this option instead:

And set up a user group to award/remove badges:

The original badge add-on was made to be a replacement for trophies that lack functionality; it has since been taken over by ~2 other developers (most recently Ozz and Painbaker).

It does not disable or remove trophies, because it isn't good practices, and it has support for trophies because that is inherently part of XF's criteria system, and also adds a quick way to convert existing trophies to badges. But people who use badges are often not going to use trophies, because the badge add-on is vastly superior and functional... Thus replacing trophies.
