XF 1.4 Avatar changes - permissions denied

As per title,
My users are experiencing issues when trying to change avatars.
The chmod settings are 777 for data and internal data, permissions allow the users to do so, yet we are still encountering this error.

Would appreciate some help and or pointers in the right direction with this....
When a user clicks their avatar to change it, (tested on my other account) the error is as follows;


The following error occurred:
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

Frustrating to say the least.

That sounds more like a permissions issue.

What do you have set for Upload an avatar' ?

Morning, yes you may be right. I can do it under admin account but no other.
They're set to allow..

Use the permissions analyser to determine where the final permission value is being set.

Got it, believe it or not it's bit of a red herring.
Changing avatars are allowed.... Maximum large avatar file size (bytes):
Was set on 0 kb..
