Avatar Approval System and Image Hosting

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in adding a feature to our forum where user-uploaded avatars require approval from moderators or admins before becoming visible. I'd appreciate some developer insights on the following:

1. Addon Cost for Avatar Approval System:

  • What would be the estimated cost of developing an addon that requires moderator/admin approval for user-uploaded avatar pictures?
2. Image Hosting Integration:

  • Is it possible to integrate with an image hosting website like https://imgbb.com/ to store avatars instead of our server? This would alleviate storage concerns on our end.
3. Automatic Deletion or Review Reminder:

  • Can the system be set up so that:
    • If an avatar isn't approved by a moderator/admin within a specific timeframe (e.g., 48 hours), it gets automatically deleted if stored on our server?
    • If using an image hosting service, the system should notify moderators/admins for review instead of automatic deletion.
Background:

We've encountered issues with users uploading inappropriate content as avatars and then using those avatars to send abusive messages with the intent to get our hosting provider involved. This feature would help us maintain a positive and professional environment on the forum.

Avatar Moderation

Description: Moderate all user avatars before display it's public. Options: N/A Permissions: Allow certain user groups can bypass this moderation Allow certain user groups can approve avatars

You can use this addon it will be cheaper and i think your requested features, can be added by the dev in the addon itself!

Thank you very much! I couldn't find this on Search or Google (maybe I'm just tired).

This functionality is similar to what these resources offer:

The only missing feature is the ability to automatically delete avatars that are not approved after a set number of hours (XX hours).

Do you know a developer who could implement this feature, or can you give me a price range for what developers typically charge for such a modification?

You can ask the dev of addon directly. Its easy to do add and the developer might add that feature for you, without any additional cost

I contact him.

Since avatars can be hosted on any image hoster, the delete function is not even necessary.Perhaps, after 24 hours of not being approved, we could simply highlight them for moderators or admins.
