Auto move members from one group to another?

I created a special limited user group and would like new members to be assigned to this group. This is to reduce new members sending private message spam, and posting images, spamming the contact us box.... etc.

Once a member has say 10 posts, then they move to the registered members group and they have full permissions of a standard user.

How can I set this up so the members are auto moved to the registered members group?

Set the limited permissions for the registered user group, then promote members with 10 posts to a group with more permissions.

I do exactly as Brogan shows, but I make it one post because moderated posts aren't counted in post count. So that when you approve one post, the account is graduated into the "trusted" usergroup.

I also take the step of hiding the "your post is moderated" notice with a little line in extra.less. This is done so we don't annoy legit people - they never know they're moderated and keep posting happily on, instead of just leaving.

By default everyone's primary usergroup is "Registered" and everything else is secondary. This facilitates the promotions system and also is your defaults in node perms.
